Tim Cahill is an Australian sporting icon. He is one of the few players on the planet to have scored at three World Cups – including one of last year’s greatest goals as voted by FIFA (his incredible, Van Basten-esque, volley against Holland at Brazil 2014).

In recent times he helped the Socceroos win the Asian Cup on home soil, featuring a stunning bicycle kick goal against China in the quarter-finals. He is Australia's most recognisable footballer with 742K followers on Twitter worldwide at time of writing.

Cahill is an Everton legend after almost a decade in the English Premier League, where his reputation as one of the Toffees' great strikers remains.

He is also one of the best signings for New York Red Bulls, where he teamed up with Thierry Henry on their MLS adventure to score yet more goals.

Now, after winning the Asian Cup in Sydney on Jan 31, 2015, he’s signed for Shanghai Shenhua Greenland in the burgeoning Chinese Super League.

But for the Socceroos, he remains our talisman and one of the most feared strikers in the world.
