A rising star of the Socceroos, the Swindon Town midfielder was taken to the 2014 World Cup for experience. That proved a smart move with the 22-year-old subsequently winning the player of the tournament at the Asian Cup in January 2015, helping the national team to an historic win on home soil and scoring a stunning opening goal in the final.

Born in Sydney, Luongo left as an  unknown teenager joining London club Spurs in their youth set-up in 2011. At the EPL club he trained with superstar Gareth Bale and learnt his trade with some of the biggest names in the EPL, but with first team spots difficult to crack he went out on loan to Ipswich then at Swindon.

Luongo has blossomed at Swindon since making his loan permanent at the League One club in August 2014. He is now on the radar of bigger clubs and is now one of the key men as the Socceroos look to qualify for Russia 2018.
