Caltex Socceroos defender Trent Sainsbury and his Inter team-mates have been called into an extended" 'ritiro" after their disastrous 5-4 defeat to Fiorentina on Saturday.
Literally translated, "ritiro" means "withdrawal", suggesting Inter's players will be confined to their training ground this week after conceding four goals in 17 minutes in a calamitous second half against La Viola.

“The manner of the defeat at Fiorentina was unacceptable for our supporters both in Italy and abroad and we are determined to put this right,” a statement on the club website read.
“Our target remains to finish as high as possible in Serie A and qualify for European competition, by giving the maximum in every match, and for the players to represent the club's colours with honour and pride as befits the history and tradition of this great club,” it continued.
Sainsbury was an unused substitute in the loss to Fiorentina and in fact, hasn't featured for the first team since his move from Chinese club Jiangsu Suning.
But manager Stefano Pioli has been publicly backed by the club's owners.
That's despite Inter Milan failing to win any of their last five matches and slipping to seventh on the Serie A table, nine points behind Atalanta in the Europa League spot.
