Tickets for the Socceroos v Indonesia international football match to be played on March 29 at Subiaco Oval in Perth have gone on sale today.

Tickets for the Socceroos v Indonesia international football match to be played on March 29 at Subiaco Oval in Perth have gone on sale today. Last month Western Australian Tourism Minister Mr. Bob Kucera announced at the launch of Hyundai A-League club Perth Glory, that Western Australia would host this significant match with proceeds going towards victims of the Asian tsunami. Tickets are available in three categories starting from $25 for an adult, $12.50 for a concession and $50 for a family of four (plus transaction fee).

Football Federation Australia CEO Mr John O'Neill said Subiaco Oval would be an ideal venue for the match.   "Subiaco Oval has hosted some very significant events in recent times and we are delighted to be able to play this international match there," said Mr O'Neill.   "Perth Glory has shown by hosting grand finals there that the ground can generate a terrific atmosphere for football."   "It's a very special occasion with the proceeds going to a great cause."   Funds from the match will go into the FIFA/AFC solidarity fund which was established just after the disaster.   The fund was created to concentrate on reconstructing the footballing infrastructure in the affected areas including the rebuilding of pitches and supply of equipment.   Mr. Kucera said Western Australians had already shown their strong support for Indonesia following the Bali bombing and the Boxing Day tsunami.   “We love a good match and international events like this charity match will draw a good crowd to support the Socceroos as well as Football Federation Australia-s charitable support for tsunami victims,” he said.   “Visitors to Western Australia from Asia are growing and this match will be another opportunity to show the region we are not just a tourist venue, but generous friends helping neighbours at a time of need.”   The State Government is proud to lend its support with $250,000 in funding to meet some of the event costs.     Gates will open at 5.30pm with the match commencing at 7pm.

The Socceroos will have two home matches during the Easter period with an international against Iraq at Telstra Stadium on Saturday March 26 followed by the clash with Indonesia on Tuesday March 29.   Australia (ranked 58th) has played Indonesia (ranked 91st) on 12 occasions with the Australians holding a 9 wins, two draws and a loss.
