Star-studded Brazil squad to face Caltex Socceroos

EPL star Philippe Coutinho is included in Brazil’s squad to face the Caltex Socceroos.
EPL stars Philippe Coutinho, David Luiz and Gabriel Jesus are all included in Brazil’s squad to face the Caltex Socceroos next month, but Neymar won’t make the trip to Melbourne.

Brazil head Down Under for games against Argentina (June 9) and Australia (June 13) to be played at the MCG.

Barcelona star Neymar was the big name omission from coach Tite’s squad, while Real Madrid duo Marcelo and Casemiro also aren’t included due to their involvement in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) Final.

"The emotional side of the game drains us...the adrenaline is at a million every single day, the players need mental rest," Tite told a news conference after announcing his squad.

"There is a team-building and there is consolidation, but this is about construction at the moment."

Neymar’s absence means he won’t get the chance to go up against his Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi, who has been included in Argentina’s star-studded squad.

Barcelona strikeforce trio Neyamr Jnr, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Juventus’ in-form attackers Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain have also been included in the Argentina squad, despite their involvement in the UCL final in Cardiff just five days earlier.

The Caltex Socceroos take on Brazil just five days after their crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier against Saudi Arabia in Adelaide on June 8.

The match against the South American powerhouses will provide vital preparation for the FIFA Confederations Cup tournament, with Australia to take on Germany, Chile and Cameroon in Group B.
