Cahill
Cahill could be in line for a shock return to the English Premier League with newly-promoted QPR and Sunderland keen to land the Socceroos star.
Fresh from scintillating performances and two stunning goals at the FIFA World Cup, Cahill is reportedly in the sights of a host of top-flight clubs.
QPR, promoted back to the Premier League under Harry Redknapp, are keen to add a proven goal-scorer to their ranks and the 34-year-old fits the bill.
He scored 56 goals in 226 appearances for Everton before joining the New York Red Bulls where he has struck 11 times on the way to being voted Major League Soccer's Most Valuable Player at the 2014 ESPY Awards.
Cahill was also over the weekend selected in the MLS All-Stars side which will take on Bayern Munich in Portland next month.
Taggart
Socceroos striker Adam Taggart has made a good start in his first appearance for English Championship club Fulham on the weekend.
Taggart played the entire second half as the Cottagers accounted for Crawley Town 2-0 in their pre-season friendly at Checkatrade Stadium.
In his first opportunity to show manager Felix Magath what he has got, the 21-year-old couldn't find the back of the net but he was involved in some impressive moments.
He went close to scoring just before the hour mark when he his intelligent run was found by Alexander Kaciniklic only for his powerful strike to flash across the face of goal.
Taggart is hoping to build on a breakthrough year in the Hyundai A-League, where he finished as the competition's top scorer with 16 goals.
He also made two appearances at the recent World Cup, including a start against former World Champions Spain in Curitiba.
Franjic
Another Socceroos star could be on the move with Brisbane Roar defender Ivan Franjic reportedly on the verge of a move to a Moscow-based Russian club, according to the website www.footballcentral.com.au
Reports emerged over the weekend the 26-year-old right-back is a target for a Russian club and may join them for a pre-season camp later this week with a view to a permanent move.
We are waiting a response from the Socceroo defender on the report.
If the move to Russia does eventuate, Franjic will follow the likes of fellow fullback Luke Wilkshire who spent six seasons in the country with Dynamo Moscow before being released earlier this month.
McBreen
Ex-Central Coast Mariners title-winning striker Daniel McBreen is continuing to make headlines atShanghai SIPG, breaking his own record as the oldest player to score in the Chinese Super League.
McBreen scored his side's only goal in their 1-1 draw with Tianjin Teda over the weekend as Shanghai moved up to fourth on the CSL ladder.
At 37 and 89 days old, McBreen is the oldest player to score in the CSL and he trumpeted his achievement on Twitter.
Lowry
Defender Shane Lowry is set to be unveiled as a Leyton Orient player in coming days,
The left-back has been playing with Millwall but is reportedly close to agreeing a move to the big-spending League One club.
Lowry has plenty of Football League experience, having enjoyed spells at Plymouth Argyle, Leeds United and Sheffield United before joining Millwall.
Schwarzer
Retired Socceroos goal-keeper Mark Schwarzer captained Chelsea in the first half of their 3-2 friendly win over AFC Wimbledon on the weekend.
The veteran shot-stopper, who signed a new one-year deal with the EPL giants for the upcoming season, wore the arm-band in the first half before regular skipper John Terry came on at the break.
Schwarzer played 69 minutes before he was substituted with the Blues coming from 2-0 down to win the pre-season contest.
