Socceroos in global first on Facebook

Socceroos stars Adam Taggart, Jason Davidson and James Holland will take part in a global live streamed Facebook event from Australia today (Tues) from 5pm AEST where they’ll be guests of SBS TV’s David Zdrilic.

Facebook Australia has partnered with World Cup official football broadcaster SBS to interview three members of the 30-man Socceroos squad for Brazil live later today.

Joining ex-Socceroo striker and SBS football analyst Zdrilic  will be James Holland, Adam Taggart and Jason Davidson.

"This is a unique opportunity for Facebook's 12 million Australian users and 3.4 million soccer fans to get close to the Socceroos and ask them the burning questions ahead of the World Cup," Facebook Australia's Managing Director William Easton said.

Socceroos fans are invited to submit their questions here https://www.facebook.com/SBSTheWorldGame.

"Connecting the Socceroos with their fans through Facebook is an important first step in our coverage of the World Cup, and we're delighted to be bringing another unique event to Australia for the first time," said Toby Forage, Executive Producer for SBS Sport Online.

“Our partnership with Facebook further strengthens our history, and also brings Facebook's audience to the carnival with us."
