Jedinak scores for Crystal Palace in South Africa

Mile Jedinak has continued Australia’s scoring spree in pre-season with the Socceroos skipper on target in Crystal Palace’s 4-0 win over Supersport United in South Africa.

Jedinak opened the scoring for the Eagles in just the third minute, prodding home from close range following a header across goal from teammate Scott Dann.

The Early strike sparked a first-half blitz for the visitors with Chung-yong Lee, Jordon Mutch and Fraizer Campbell all finding the net to give the Premier League outfit a 4-0 advantage at the break.

Former Wellington Phoenix striker Jeremy Brockie nearly pulled one back for the hosts just after the interval, with the 27-year-old’s shot forcing a fine diving save from Wayne Hennessey.

Supersport had a gilt-edged chance for a consolation goal with three minutes remaining but Thuso Phala was unable to turn the ball home from close range with Hennessey able to clear the danger.

It has been a prolific 24 hours for the Socceroos with Adam Taggart and Massimo Luongo both finding the net in pre-season friendlies.
