A movie centred on Western Sydney Wanderers' incredible ACL success, as well as Tim Cahill, are part of a unique Film Festival featuring football as the theme over the next month.
The festival, which kicked off to a big reception with its world premiere at Parramatta’s Riverside Theatres last weekend, will screen movies across Sydney as well as Brisbane and Melbourne over the coming month.

The Football Film Festival screens 15 films which range from home-grown documentaries such as Western Sydney Wanderers FC march to the AFC Champions League title, to international hits “Looking for Eric” about a football fanatic postman who receives some life coaching from ex-Manchester United star Eric Cantona.
Other feature films include Gascoigne, Messi, Offside, No Apologies starring Westfield Matildas stars Kyah Simon and Lydia Williams and Tim Cahill: The Unseen Journey.

The festival also aims to deliver a stadium like atmosphere, educational and cultural experiences for young and old, as well as discussion forums.
Wanderers star Shannon Cole and the FFA’s Head of Government Relations and International Affairs Mark Falvo headlined the panel held last Saturday in Parramatta.
The next stage of the festival will be held in Sydney at Leichhardt Palace Cinemas from 22-24 October, before moving on to Brisbane (31 Oct – 1 Nov) and then Melbourne (6-7 November).
