The future of Socceroo left-back Jason Davidson remains up in the air after he was released by West Bromwich Albion following the end of the EPL season.
Davidson was just a year into his two-year deal with the Baggies but was granted a release after failing to break into Tony Pulis’ first-team.
He managed only four appearances in the senior side, most of those in the League Cup where he was the hero in a penalty shootout victory in the early rounds.

Despite being without a club, the 23-year-old still looms as Ange Postecoglou’s first-choice left-back and was yesterday named in the 23-man squad for next month’s World Cup qualifier against Kyrgyzstan.
Davidson is one of a few current Socceroos whose club futures are in limbo ahead of next season.
Tommy Oar, Ivan Franjic and Tomi Juric are all on the lookout for new clubs after parting ways with FC Utrecht, Torpedo Moscow and Western Sydney Wanderers respectively.
“I’ll never advise a player where to go and to which club,” Postecoglou said on Monday about the futures of some of his stars.
“Wherever they go, whether it’s here, in Asia or Europe, from a national team perspective it needs to be a place where they keep progressing their football and themselves.
“If they go into that environment and play well, they’ll get selected (for Australia).
“They are key decisions but ultimately that comes down to individuals and what their priorities are to them and they’re all at different stages of their careers.”
Massimo Luongo will almost certainly find himself at a new club next season while Nathan Burns is another who is expected to find a new home for the next campaign.
Postecoglou says the upcoming qualifier is a chance for every player to put themselves in the shop window.
“By the time the next World Cup comes around we want players playing in top leagues and I think playing at the national team level has helped in that regard,” the Soocceroo boss said.
“All those things are positives and that’s what we need to see more of. That’s why some of the decisions the players are making (are so important).
“Tommy Oar is another who’s had a fantastic career at Utrecht, so he’s got a big decision about his next move now. Hopefully he gets to play in one of the top leagues as well.
“The more players we get playing in the top league by the time of the next World Cup, means the better placed we’ll be to be a strong team as a unit.”
