Tim Cahill was given a watching brief on Tuesday night as his new club Shanghai Shenhua played out a 2-2 pre-season friendly against Liaoning Whowin ahead of the Chinese Super League season starting next month.
The veteran Socceroos striker only landed in China late last week and wasn’t risked in the clash, which also featured another Aussie in ex-Newcastle Jet Josh Mitchell.
Cahill has started training with his new side and will ramp up his fitness in coming days ahead of Shenhua’s CSL opener against Shanghai Shenxin on March 8.
