Adam Federici made his return to Reading's starting line-up as they drew 3-3 with third-placed Wolves on Sunday in the English Championship.

The recently-recalled Socceroos gloveman conceded three times in the second half but Glenn Murray struck in the 89th minute for Reading to ensure the home side claimed a share of the points at the Madejski Stadium.

On Saturday, Mile Jedinak scored for the second straight match to help Crystal Palace to a 2-0 victory over Leicester City in the Premier League.

The Socceroos skipper headed Jason Puncheon's 54th-minute free-kick into the net soon after Frazier Campbell had put Palace in front at Selhurst Park, as the London-based club won their second game in a row. The victory extended Palace's unbeaten run in the league to four games and they leapfrogged Leicester into ninth place in the standings due to their superior goal difference.

Jedinak's fellow Socceroos midfielder Massimo Luongo also had a good day with the youngster setting up Swindon Town's first goal in their 3-0 triumph at Barnsley in League One. Luongo completed a full shift for Swindon, who moved into third in League One, while Brad Smith was unsighted for the Robins.

Elsewhere in England's third tier, Bailey Wright and Neil Kilkenny both played 90 minutes in Preston North End's 2-0 win over Coventry City, as did Shane Lowry in Leyton Orient's 3-2 loss to Rochdale.

In the Championship, Scott McDonald also earned an assist as he created Edward Upson's equaliser for Millwall but the London-based club couldn't hold on for a draw, losing 2-1 to Huddersfield Town.

James Weselowski played a full match in League Two for Shrewsbury Town.

Australian goalkeeper Brad Jones sat on the bench in the Merseyside Derby as Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton, while in the Scottish Premiership, Jackson Irvine completed 90 minutes as bottom side Ross County ended their disastrous start to the campaign with a 2-1 win over Dundee.

Ross County had lost their first seven games of the season.

Europe

On the continent, James Holland limped off in Austria Vienna's scoreless draw at Grodig, while Luke Wilkshire was part of a big win for Feyenoord.

Just days after being recalled to the Socceroos squad, Holland completed just 26 minutes for Austria Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga before he was forced off with an ankle injury after getting trodden on in a tackle. In the Dutch Eredivisie, Wilkshire played 78 minutes as Feyenoord thumped Go Ahead Eagles 4-0, gaining revenge on the same club that had defeated the Rotterdam-based outfit 2-0 in the KNVB Cup midweek.

Elsewhere, Trent Sainsbury sat on the bench in PEC Zwolle's 4-2 win over Heracles, while on Friday, Tommy Oar played an hour in FC Utrecht's 2-0 loss at PSV Eindhoven.

In Germany, Mitch Langerak sat through Borussia Dortmund's 2-1 derby loss at Schalke in the Bundesliga, while Robbie Kruse was again on the pine for Bayer Leverkusen in their scoreless draw at Freiburg.

In the second tier, Mathew Leckie came off in the 90th minute as Ingolstadt defeated Karlsruher 1-0 to stay top of the 2. Bundesliga, while Ben Halloran came on at half-time for Fortuna Dusseldorf, who drew 1-1 with Bochum.

On Sunday, Adama Traore was taken off in the 75th minute in Vitoria Guimaraes 4-0 loss at the hands of Maritimo in Portugal, while Caleb Patterson-Sewell was on the bench in Gil Vicente's 3-2 defeat at Boavista.

Asia

Brett Holman set up a goal for Al Nasr in the second half but it was not enough to complete a comeback against Al Shabab, who won 2-1 in the Arabian Gulf League, while in Qatar, Mark Bresciano played 57 minutes in Al Gharrafa's 2-1 victory over Al Sailiya. In the Chinese Super League, Ryan McGowan played 90 minutes and copped a yellow card as fourth-placed Shandong Luneng defeated Shanghai Shenhua 2-0 to win their fourth consecutive match.

Jonas Salley helped Daniel McBreens stay quiet after the Australian striker came off the bench at half-time in Guizhou Renhe's 1-1 draw with Shanghai SIPG, while Josh Mitchell had a hard day at the office as his Liaoning Whowin lost 3-1 to Beijing Guoan.

No Australians tasted victory in South Korea with Alex Wilkinson and Robbie Cornthwaite earning draws with Jeonbuk Motors and Chunnam Dragons respectively, while Aleksandar Jovanovic completed a full shift in Jeju United's defeat at the hands of Incheon.
