A Caltex Socceroo made a debut for his new EPL club while a couple of others squared off in friendly action around Europe over the weekend.

Brad Smith made his first appearance for AFC Bournemouth since his switch from Liverpool, playing 86 minutes of their 1-0 win over Cardiff City.
Fellow Socceroo Adam Federici was in goal for the Cherries, making a couple of important saves to preserve his clean sheet in a solid 90-minute hitout.
Defender Bailey Wright also kept things tight as Preston drew 0-0 in their clash with Bolton Wanderers, while skipper Mile Jedinak got 82 minutes under his belt but Crystal Palace lost 3-1 at Fulham.
Massimo Luongo also got a full game under his belt for QPR as they beat EPL club Watford 2-0, Stefan Mauk played 84 minutes as NEC lost 2-0 against Real Sociedad and Daniel De Silva played the second half of Roda JC’s stalemate against Birmingham City.
There were Aussies on both sides of the pitch as Mat Leckie’s FC Ingolstadt lost 1-0 against Huddersfield Town, in which Aaron Mooy played for 84 minutes while Jason Davidson was also involved.
Elsewhere, Mitch Langerak played a full game in goal as VFB Stuttgart beat Greuther Fürth 3-1 and Milos Degenek played 75 minutes of 1860 Munich’s 0-0 draw with SC Freiburg.
Keeper Alex Cisak played more than an hour and kept a clean sheet in Leyton Orient’s 2-0 win over Gillingham, Jimmy Jeggo played 67 minutes as Sturm Graz lost 1-0 att SV Ried and Bursaspor’s Aziz Behich played 70 minutes but lost 3-0 against SV Darmstadt.
In Scotland, Scott McDonald scored as Motherwell beat Stranraer 3-0 and Ryan Edwards got through just under an hour as Partick Thistle won 2-0 against Queen’s Park.

Ex-Adelaide United striker Bruce Djite made his debut for Suwon FC, playing 65 minutes but he couldn’t inspire them to a win, going down 2-0 against Sangju Sangmu.
Defender Tomi Mrcela was excellent for Jeonnam Dragons, playing 90 minute as his side won 2-0 at Ulsan Hyundai.
In China, Trent Sainsbury’s Jiangsu Suning remain in second spot after losing a thriller 3-2 at Shanghai Shenhua, Ryan McGowan was taken off at half-time in Henan Jianye’s 2-1 loss, while Matthew Spiranovic played a full game as Hangzhou Greentown lost 1-0 against Beijing Guoan.
Ryan Griffiths played just over an hour for South China AA as they lost 2-1 in a friendly against Juventus, while Mark Bridge played a full game as Chiangrai United beat Army United 2-1 in Thailand.
