In great news for the Caltex Socceroos, Mile Jedinak has made his return to the football field for Aston Villa in England’s Championship this morning (Wednesday).

The Caltex Socceroos skipper hadn't played since Australia's 3-2 win over Saudi Arabia in June due to a groin injury, but started Villa's home Championship match against Middlesbrough.

However, Jedinak was replaced at half-time with the game finishing goalless.

With the games again Syria next month fast approaching, having Jedinak back on the park and regaining his match fitness will be a huge boost for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Midfielder Massimo Luongo has inspired a QPR comeback in their latest Championship outing at home to London rivals Milwall.

The visitors were 2-0 up when the Caltex Socceroos midfielder gave Rangers hope with a well-taken 73rd minute strike.

Matt Smith scored the equaliser with five minutes remaining to the delight of the home fans.

Fellow Australian James Meredith played a full game for the visitors.

Defender Bailey Wright has led Bristol City in a 3-3 draw at high-flying Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After falling behind 1-0, the Caltex Socceroos defender provided the assist for team-mate Aden Flint to square the ledger just before half-time.

Wolves regained the lead early in the second half before a Famara Diedhiou penalty drew City level and Bobby Reid fired them ahead eight minutes from time.

However, defender Danny Batth earned the home side a share of the points.
